How did St Ambrose show Christian Values?

St Ambrose showed many Christian values in his life, he helped the poor and reached out for those in need and that showed care. When the Bishop of Milan died, Ambrose attended the meeting to elect a a new Bishop because he didn't want any violence between the Nicene Church and the Arians. This shows that he wanted peace.He was surprised when they wanted him to be the next Bishop. Ambrose was known for his Nicene beliefs and faiths, but the Arians also admired him for his charity work, he refused because he wasn't baptised and he hadn't done any training in theology. Ambrose tried to hide, but his colleague gave him up. He eventually became the Bishop of Milan. After he became a Bishop, he donated all of his land and gave money to the poor which made him well known. This showed that he was generous and he cared a lot.
