Fun Facts about St Ambrose


St Ambrose was one of the original fathers of the church. He had high importance because he created many of the church's important hymns and writings. He is also the patron of bee keepers, beggars and learning. His feast day is on the 7th of December. St Ambrose is also the confessor and doctor of the church. He was also helped with composing the hymn 'Te Deum' which is believed to have been written when he was baptized by Augustine of Hippo. St Ambrose's body still lies in the church of St Ambropogia in Milan, along with the bodies of St Gervase and St Protase. He was educated in Rome with his brother when his father passed away and he was the son of one of the highest ranking administrative officials in the Roman Empire.
